Tutors for overseas graduate students continue to fulfill the "responsibility of the first responsible person" in accordance with the unified requirements of the university, pay attention to the physical and mental health of overseas graduate students, guide and supervise the work related to scientific research and thesis, strengthen the contact with each overseas graduate student who cannot return to the university, and provide necessary care and help.
Two thirds of International students in each teaching class adopt online teaching mode before returning to school. For some international students who cannot study online, teachers share teaching materials and assign homework. After each class, the teacher shall fill in the "Survey on online Teaching of Postgraduate courses for Overseas Students in Jiangsu University during epidemic Prevention and control period" at address: www.wjx.cn/jq/62938957.aspx, and publishes statistics every Monday. After most courses are started, a questionnaire survey will be conducted. Continue to improve the quality of online and offline teaching.
(1)If there are overseas graduate students in the class where the course is located, the course teacher shall arrange offline tutoring time once a week, and the number of students shall not exceed 4.
(2)Compulsory degree courses for postgraduate degree, students who fail to take the offline exams in this semester will be arranged to take the exams at the next semester after their return to school. For non-degree courses, the assessment method shall be uniformly filed with the Graduate School by each training unit 2 weeks before the examination. Strictly carry out the ideological examination of the use of overseas teaching materials. If the review is not passed, classes are not allowed to start, and they are not allowed to be supplemented.
(3)Scientific research guidance: online scientific research guidance will be provided by tutors. Seminars with 5 people or more must be conducted online, and the number of participants in offline seminars must not exceed 4 people. Those who have completed the training and passed the dissertation review can apply for online defense. The tutors are required to correspond to the graduate students studying abroad one by one, and the graduates have one case for each person. At the end of each online scientific research guidance, the tutor arranges time to answer the inquiries of international students, and do a good job of comforting graduate students who cannot return to school abroad.
(4)All teachers to carry out the "online + offline" mixed mode of teaching reform, relying on Internet information technology and instant messaging tools such as WeChat and QQ, and platforms such as China University MOOC, Good University Online, Wisdom Tree, Superstar Erya, Rain Classroom, etc. Under the premise of ensuring the quality of teaching, we will carry out "online + offline" mixed teaching. According to the syllabus, the teaching content of online and offline courses should be rationally planned, the class hour ratio, homework (assessment) plan and performance evaluation plan of students' online and offline learning should be scientifically formulated, and online teaching mode should be adopted as far as possible before the epidemic situation is resolved.
(5)In the next semester, all postgraduate students will use the new 2020 training program, including 12 postgraduate students in the 2020 spring class. In view of the epidemic situation, if the fall overseas postgraduate students cannot enter the country, the course arrangement is in principle online teaching. For individual classes (mainly for PhD students studying abroad), offline lectures can be arranged if the class students are in the school.
(6)Practical courses for overseas graduate students take the form of a combination of online and offline. The College actively wants to expand practice bases for overseas graduate students, including overseas practice bases. Overseas graduate students who need to go to enterprises for practical research should carry out practical activities while meeting the requirements of epidemic prevention and control. Those who are overseas can do it locally, and do a good job of mutual recognition of credits as required.
(7)If the postgraduate students can enter the country on time in the autumn, they should leave according to the epidemic prevention regulations and enter the classroom after being confirmed safe. At the same time, teaching texts, videos and other materials should be provided to students, especially overseas graduate students in isolation on campus, so as to maintain communication and interaction with students through the Internet.
(8)It is necessary to make full use of national, provincial and university-level websites for all English quality courses to carry out teaching. When using foreign teaching materials or online teaching resources, humanities and economics and management courses must fill in the "Overseas Students Teaching Materials (Online Materials) Ideological Approval Form" (Annex 1), and can only be used after approval.
(9)The course teacher or school secretary shall lead the establishment of the QQ group or WeChat group of the teaching class two weeks before the start of the class, be responsible for the teaching organization and information management in the group, and publish the "Syllabus", "Teaching Calendar", course materials and other information in the group. According to the progress of the "Teaching Calendar", the course PPT is released in the group, homework is assigned, and homework is collected, and the results of the correction of homework are reported to students in time.
(10)Course teachers should provide online tutoring and organize students' online seminars at least once a week, not less than 1.5 hours each time. Teachers should timely track the learning progress of overseas graduate students, pay attention to the feedback of students, carry out online tests, homework, theory and other teaching activities, and form a detailed historical record of student course assessment
(11)In order to enrich the "online + offline" mixed teaching mode of overseas graduate students and increase the enthusiasm of international students, the WeChat official account of the Language and Culture Center regularly pushes Chinese learning tasks and organizes online cross-cultural communication activities for overseas graduate students of Jiangsu University.
(12)The arrangement of key teaching time nodes is as follows:
1.Before September 20, the course leader will discuss and submit a mixed teaching plan with members of the teaching team (Annex 3). The course teaching plan of the graduate school responsible for arranging courses is reviewed by the International Education Office, and the teaching plan of the college responsible for arranging courses is reviewed by each college.
2.Before September 27, each college will collect the approved teaching plan of the school management course and submit it to the International Education Office, and send the electronic draft to ieao@ujs.edu.cn. After the paper manuscript is stamped, please send it to the International Education Office of the Graduate School within 3 working days after the formal opening of the school.
3.Before September 27, the postgraduate teaching secretaries of the colleges will assist teachers to establish online teaching platforms (including course teaching QQ groups, WeChat groups, etc.) to prepare for the start of classes.
(13) For degree courses, offline examinations must be held. Teachers are required to prepare for the exam in strict accordance with A and B. Those who fail to take the offline exam due to the need of epidemic prevention and control will be arranged by the graduate school to take an exam in the next semester. The exam results will be recorded into the teaching management information system for overseas graduate students as the normal scores, and will not be regarded as the retake scores.
(14)For non-degree courses, flexible assessment methods are allowed on the premise of insisting on the quality of assessment. The assessment method shall be uniformly filed with the Graduate School by each training unit 2 weeks before the examination. The graduate school shall recognize the assessment results of those who have been put on record and implemented in strict accordance with the record assessment method.
(15)Before students register for entry, for overseas graduate students, tutors use corporate WeChat, Tencent conferences and other methods to provide online scientific research guidance. For postgraduates in school, on the premise of meeting the needs of epidemic prevention and control, offline seminars can be adopted. Those who have completed the training program abroad and passed the dissertation review may apply for online defense. There is a one-to-one correspondence between overseas graduate students and their supervisors, and one case for each graduate.
(16)The deadline for submission of papers for overseas graduate students is the same as that of Chinese graduate students.
(17)For overseas graduate students who cannot return to school, who have completed all the training links and passed the dissertation submission, they can apply for online defense. Specific requirements will be notified separately by the Graduate School.
