From June 2 to June 5, The Second Conference on Calculus of Variations and Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations Conference was successfully held in Zhenjiang, and was jointly hosted by Jiangsu University, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Wuhan University. More than 90 experts, scholars and graduate students from China, Canada and other countries and regions participated in this event.

On the morning of June 3, the Dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences, Prof. Zhitao Zhang, presided over the opening ceremony. On behalf of the organizing committee and the School of Mathematical Sciences in Jiangsu University, he extended a warm welcome to all the experts. Prof. Hong Chen of the Vice President of Jiangsu University and Academician Juncheng Wei of The University of British Columbia delivered speeches successively. Prof. Hong Chen introduced the development of Jiangsu University and the construction of the School of Mathematical Sciences, and expressed warm congratulations on the convening of the conference, and expressed heartfelt thanks to all experts and scholars for participating in this conference. Academician Juncheng Wei introduced the theme and content of this conference in combination with the development of the international field of nonlinear functional analysis. He believed that calculus of variations and nonlinear partial differential equations are still the current research focus and hotspot, and affirmed Jiangsu University's development of mathematics. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to the participating experts and scholars for their active participation in the academic exchanges in the field of nonlinear functional analysis.

In the two-day conference report, 12 famous experts at home and abroadFellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Prof. Juncheng Wei, Prof. Huijiang Zhao from Wuhan University, Prof. Wantong Li from Lanzhou University, Prof. Shusen Yan from Central China Normal University, Prof. Meiyue Jiang from Peking University, Prof. Duanzhi Zhang from Nankai University, Prof. Xijun Hu from Shandong University, Prof. Yuxia Guo from Tsinghua University, Prof. Zhian Wang from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Associate Researcher Liming Sun from Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Jiayu Li from University of Science and Technology of China, Prof. Kelei Wang from Wuhan University, and Two young talents from our school, Associate Prof. Maochun Zhu and Dr. Zexin Zhang addressed the conference respectively. Everyone exchanged the latest research results and academic developments on topics such as calculus of variations, elliptic equations, parabolic equations, other nonlinear partial differential equations, dynamical systems, mathematical biology, and mathematical modeling, and launched extensive academic discussions.

This conference is an important academic event in the field of calculus of variations and nonlinear partial differential equations. The conference was successfully concluded on June 5. This conference has successfully strengthened the connection between Chinese mathematicians and international counterparts, and provided a platform for learning, communication and cooperation for leading talents, young talents and graduate students from the international and domestic fields of mathematics. The conference has very positive significance for promoting nonlinear scientific research, promoting more innovative scientific research results, strengthening the construction of mathematics disciplines in Jiangsu University, and improving the level of scientific research and theoretical innovation.
