报告题目：Could global warming mitigation reduce economic inequality?

报告摘要：With global warming and extreme weather increasing, natural ecosystems and human economic society are broadly affected. This paper systematically demonstrates the internal relationship between climate warming and economic inequality, from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. We find that technological progress enhances adaptability to climate warming, and increases the optimum temperature in economic production. With the development of technology, the optimal temperature increases more in rich countries compared with poor countries. Economies in poor countries are mainly affected by temperature change in the lagged period, while economies in rich countries mainly affected by temperature change in the current period. If the global economy takes a sustainable path in the future, limiting global warming to 1.5℃would further reduce global economic inequality relative to a 2℃target, while achieving a lower than 1.5℃target under a non-sustainable development path would increase global economic inequality. Further, economic inequality exhibits a descending trend in agriculture, tourist, export and migration types of countries, while that in industrial countries increases under a 1.5℃(2℃) target. This study shows that a sustainable path is a win-win strategy to mitigate global warming and reduce global economic inequality.

报告人简介：中国科学院大学经济与管理学院副教授（长聘），长期致力于能源-经济-环境（3E）复杂系统集成建模、能源与环境经济学研究，是综合评估模型方法论体系E3IA的领衔构建者。主持国家自然科学优秀青年基金、国家重点研发计划子课题、中国科学院青年促进会项目等多项重要项目，以第一作者在Science、Nature、《管理世界》等国内外顶级期刊上发表论文数篇，研究成果曾获得教育部高等学校优秀科研成果奖，并入选Springer Nature“改变世界”全球杰出研究榜单。他是10 New Insights of Climate Science 2021的特邀作者，曾多次受邀参加联合国全球气候变化大会。
